Examples of overlap between museum culture, retail culture and experiential culture seem to be an emerging theme for 2010.
See our earlier posts… Art galleries and the future of retail, and Luxury brands and the rise of liquid architecture.
Now the Serpentine Gallery in London has announced another initiative offering people the opportunity to stay the night.
On Friday 30th July, they are organizing SLEEPOVER, an overnight session of talks, art, and performance, dealing with the issues around sleep, night-time and even “the psychedelia qualities of insomnia.”
The evening will be documented in a hand made book, collated and designed throughout the night by John Morgan Studio. The book will be hand crafted and will be delivered to participants in the morning.
Innovative. Charming. We’ll be seeing much more like this…
