Earlier this week, we posted a piece about the increasing intersection between retail and museum culture. Today a new example…
The Hoet Bekaert gallery in Gent, Belgium has just opened a retail-based exhibition called Gustav, in conjunction with A.F. Vandervorst, which displays vintage art, fashion, design, art jewelry, to admire and to buy.
And for those that really enjoy the gallery, they can live in it. In a further innovation, the gallery has also launched a Sweet Dreams initiative, where visitors to the Hoet Bekaert can also stay the night in their 2 twin room suites, with private evolving art collection.
We can guarantee many more of these kind of hybrids as the luxury category continues to grow in confidence about what it can represent to future consumers.
